S.T.E.A.M. Festival

S.T.E.A.M. Festival

June 4, 2016

On the Saturday that marked off the commencement of June, the Robotics team of Ocean View High School attended the 2nd annual S.T.E.A.M. Festival hosted by the Downey Federal Credit Union.  The S.T.E.A.. festival is an event that targets children from kindergarten to 5th grade and allows them to explore numerous career and paths the future has to offer.  Team 4619, along with an additional eight FRC teams, were able display their robot and talk to parents and kids about what robotics is and the many benefits that arise from being involved in S.T.E.A.M.-based foundations.  From watching the robots compete to trying to catch large tennis balls from a shooting robot, the children who paid a visit to the S.T.E.A.M. festival truly enjoyed their experience there and the Hawkbots were delighted to have been able to contribute to such joy.
